Cannabinoids can each have a diferent effect on the body. Most cannabinoids are beleived to be non-psychoactive  like CBD, CBC, and CBG. In contrast, THC carries psychoactive characteristics in varying degrees along with stronger pain releif benefits.
Understandong the benefits of differing cannabinoids can be important when choosing medical cannabis that is right for you.

The Endocannabinoid System

The endocannabinoid system is a network of cell receptors that responds to cannabinoidsThe human body (along with all animals; including vertebrates and invertebrates) have an Endocannabinoid System.  The ECS is involved in several psychiatric disorders, including schizophrenia. It  is comprised of endocannabinoids and cannabinoid receptors (i.e. CB1 and CB2).  These receptors are mostly found in the brain but also show up in the immune cells, liver and lungs. This system is what helps with pain and inflammation regulation along with total body homeostasis.
